Hospitium York Engagement shoot
Hospitium York Engagement shoot. I had photographed Bride Jo before. In different circumstances just head shots at work ! Its always a massive compliment to be asked by someone who I have photographed at work to be their wedding photographer.
Jo & Dan have booked their wedding for later in the year at the idillic Hospitium.
The Hospitium is in the Museum Gardens in York. So we went for a nice spring walk with Jo & Dan in the stunning museum gardens. Jasper their new puppy also came along!
You can view some weddings I have photographed at the lovely Hospitium on my blog – Adowa & Jonny , Jo & Dan
The Hospitium York Wedding Photography
The museum gardens are special. They are also am amazing venue all year round. Getting great backgrounds if not dependant on any weather or time of year.
St Mary’s Abbey, The Museum Gardens York
The ruins we now see are all that remains of one of the wealthiest and most powerful Benedictine monasteries in England.
The abbey estate occupied the entire site of the Museum Gardens and the abbot was one of the most powerful clergymen of his day, on a par with the Archbishop of York. In medieval York, the abbey sat opposite and mirrored the Minster: two great buildings dedicated to worship.
The monks would spend their days working in abbey administration, copying books, trading with merchants, providing food and supplies for the monastery, managing the abbey’s estates and helping the poor.
Hospitium York Wedding Photography – The Venue
“The 14th century Hospitium is a two-storey listed building set within the beautiful York Museum Gardens in York city centre. Overlooked by the striking ruins of the Grade 1 listed St. Mary’s Abbey.
The Hospitium is our most versatile venue available throughout the day and evening. It’s licensed to hold weddings and civil ceremonies. It can also host unique conferences, workshops, private parties, trade fairs and more. The Medieval rooms and garden setting are beautiful and atmospheric”
I love shooting Weddings at the Hospitium, its setting in the Museum Gardens gives so many lovely backdrops for your York Wedding Photography. York Museum Gardens wedding photography is a dream!
My style
“The majority of what we capture will be candid moments you’ll cherish forever. We think its important to have some stylish portraiture too. So we will take you aside for a few minutes and create some portraits of the two of you together, but it will be relaxed, spontaneous and quick so you can get back to your guests and enjoy your day.
Nobody likes hanging around and posing for ages. So we will make it relaxed and quick so you can then enjoy the party. We both have an unobtrusive approach. We will blend into your day to be able to capture subtle interactions and tender moments that will transport you back to the day for years to come.
Many people these days claim to shoot in a “documentary” or “photojournalist” style. If thats the kind of photography you want then make sure you book someone who has the genuine experience necessary to produce beautiful imagery whatever the situation.”
