Thornton Manor Wedding Photographer for Rachel & Mark.

Rachel and Mark had a fabulous mixed cultured wedding, Rachel is native Chinese and Mark is from a Polish background.

The whole wedding day was at the stunning  Thornton Manor in The Wirral, Merseyside. The day started in a lovely Thatched Pavilion for the girls getting ready, followed by traditional Chinese door games, (lucky Boys!!!) then a Chinese Tea ceremony, Wedding Ceremony then Reception followed by cocktails & cake.

Thornton Manor Wedding venue

 A large manor house in the village of Thornton Hough, Thornton Mannor is really impressive. 

Thornton Manor is a grade II* listed Elizabethan-style house built in the middle of the 19th and early 20th century and surrounded by exquisite park and gardens designed by Thomas Mawson. Standing proudly in the village of Thornton Hough, the historic estate is set amongst an oasis of rural calm and beautifully presented countryside.

Bridal Prep 

The day started with me meeting the girls in the Thatched Pavilion. Set in the grounds at the front of the house, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen-diner, living room and an outdoor hot tub. This is a top standard property! The girls were having hair and make up done before the greatly anticipated Chinese door games. 

This was my first experience of Chinese door games… “Door games usually include the consumption of unpleasant or strange food or drink. In particular, grooms are made to consume foods that are sour, sweet, bitter and spicy”

Rachel and the bridesmaids had a lot of fun preparing the games. As you can see from the images they were pretty embarrassing of the boys!

Chinese Wedding Ceremony 

After the door games a Chinese wedding ceremony took pace over in the main house. Rachel looked stunning in her traditional dress. After the Chinese ceremony Rachel went to get ready again- this time for the white wedding. 

English Wedding Cereomony

The traditional legal English wedding took place before heading ousted for some drinks and photos. Thornton Manor has amazing grounds and the sun was pretty lovely on Rachel and Marks wedding day.
