Tom & Tom’s Woodlands Hotel Leeds wedding photography

Tom and Tom’s wedding at Woodlands Hotel was full of warmth, laughter and genuine connection. Set just outside Leeds, the day had that perfect balance of relaxed atmosphere and thoughtful detail — exactly the kind of celebration that photographs beautifully.

As a wedding photographer, days like this are always a joy. There was no sense of rush or formality for the sake of it. Instead, the focus stayed exactly where it should be: on the two of them, their favourite people, and the feeling of being completely present. They had a lovely mix of family and friends who had traveled to Leeds from London bringing a lovely mix of vibes. you can see more weddings on my blog if you want to see more Woodlands Hotel Leeds wedding photography

Getting Ready at Woodlands Hotel

The morning began with a calm energy. One of the things I love about photographing weddings at Woodlands Hotel is how everything flows so naturally. The elegant interiors, soft natural light and beautiful grounds all create an ideal setting for documentary wedding photography.

During the preparations there were plenty of small moments that often become some of the most meaningful photographs later on — quiet conversations, final touches, shared smiles and that growing sense of anticipation before the ceremony.

A Personal Ceremony

Tom and Tom’s ceremony felt personal, heartfelt and full of emotion. They chose Helen Phillips Celebrant to take there wedding ceremony. There were smiles from the very beginning, but also those quieter moments that say so much — the glance across the room, a hand squeeze, the laughter that settles nerves.

These are often the images couples come back to years later. Not because they are staged or perfect, but because they feel real.

Woodlands Hotel Leeds wedding photography

I had met Tom & Tom on the dance floor at one of their friends weddings that i was photographing last year. They had a good idea about how I work and had specifed that they ddnt want any posey photos and were not really comfortable with lots of posed portraits.

One of the reasons couples choose Woodlands Hotel for their wedding is the setting. The gardens and surrounding spaces give plenty of variety without ever needing to disappear from guests for long. This is lovely for those couples who just want a qucik walk together and some natural portraits.

So for  Tom and Tom, we kept portraits super relaxed and natural. Nothing overly posed, just a little time together away from the energy of the day. A few minutes to breathe, take it all in and create photographs that feel effortless and true to them.

That is always my approach to wedding photography — gentle guidance where needed, but never interrupting the flow of the day.

A Celebration Full of Energy

As the day moved into the reception, the atmosphere shifted beautifully. Drinks, conversation, hugs, laughter, the grand national and that lovely sense that everyone had settled fully into celebration mode.

The best part of documentary wedding photography is often this in-between time. The unscripted moments. Friends catching up, family reactions, the way people naturally gather and connect.

Those photographs often become the ones that carry the most emotional weight.
