Beth & Haydn’s Spring Wedding at The Hovels at Harewood

The Hovels Harewood wedding photography – Beth and Haydn’s spring wedding at The Hovels at Harewood was one of those days that felt joyful from beginning to end. Full of sunshine, incredible music, endless smiles and so much laughter, it was the kind of celebration that reminded everyone exactly what weddings are about — great people, a beautiful setting and a day that feels completely true to you.

Tucked away near Leeds, The Hovels at Harewood is such a brilliant venue for couples who want something relaxed, stylish and full of atmosphere. The character of the space, the surrounding countryside and the easy flow of the day make it a wonderful place for natural wedding photography.

A Bright Spring Morning

From the morning preparations, there was an unmistakable sense of excitement. The spring sunshine poured in, guests arrived with huge smiles, and there was that lovely feeling of anticipation that builds before the ceremony begins.

One of the things I loved most about Beth and Haydn’s day was how relaxed everything felt. Nothing felt rushed. There was time to enjoy each moment, glasses of fizz, to take it all in and to really be present. That always makes such a difference in photographs!

A Ceremony Full of Smiles

Beth and Haydn’s ceremony was full of warmth, laughter and genuine emotion. From the moment they saw each other, there were smiles that barely left their faces for the rest of the day.

Those honest little reactions — the exchanged glances, the laughter, the way family and friends responded around them — are often the photographs that hold the most meaning later on. They are the moments that tell the real story of the day.

Sunshine, Cocktails and Live Music

After the ceremony, everyone spilled outside into the sunshine for a brilliant cocktail hour. It felt like the perfect spring afternoon.

Guests relaxed with drinks in hand, conversations flowed easily and there was such a lovely energy across the whole celebration. The atmosphere was lifted even more by the amazing music throughout the day. It created that effortless feeling where people naturally settle into celebration mode.

The sax player was a real highlight. The live music brought so much character and energy, and it gave the drinks reception such a fun, vibrant feel. Everywhere you looked there were people laughing, chatting, dancing and simply enjoying being together.

For documentary wedding photography, this part of the day is always gold — real interactions, natural expressions and those in-between moments that often become the most treasured photographs.

Portraits in the Spring Light

With beautiful sunshine and the surrounding grounds at The Hovels at Harewood, we took a little time for portraits without ever taking Beth and Haydn away from their guests for too long.

The light was soft and flattering, and the whole session felt easy and natural. No heavy posing, no long interruptions — just a few quiet moments together in the middle of an already brilliant day. That is always my approach. Gentle direction where needed, but always keeping the feeling relaxed and authentic.

Endless Smiles and So Much Fun

As the day unfolded, the energy never dipped. There were endless smiles, so much laughter and a real sense that everyone was having an incredible time.

It was one of those weddings where every part of the day felt connected — from the emotional moments during the ceremony to the sunshine-filled cocktail hour and the live music that kept the atmosphere buzzing.

Beth and Haydn created a day that felt warm, stylish and full of genuine joy.
