Richmond London Wedding

Katie & Rory

Richmond London Wedding – Katie & Rory’s wedding was in London in March.

I shot the wedding of Katie’s brother a few years ago at the lovely Denton Hall Ilkley in Yorkshire – you can see Vicky & Paul wedding blog here

Katie started the day getting ready at The Lodge Hotel  Putney.

As it was March we had all hoped for the weather to be spring like but due to “The best from the East” it was absolutely freezing!  -Wind chill -4 and chance of snow!

The weather is the one aspect of the day you cannot control so have to go with the flow! Katie was getting ready with her bridesmaids and mum. A friend did her make up and there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere in the morning.

The beautiful bridal flowers were by van Wonderen Flowers  Katie’s wedding dress was incredible and it looked fantastic on her.

The embroidered flowers definitely added a touch of spring to the otherwise chilly day! The Dress was from French Connection online

A very stylish bride along with very stylish bridesmaids with bargain dresses from ASOS

Katie had a beautiful old Morris Minor to travel to the wedding in and a vintage bus for the guests.

The wedding ceremony took place at York House, Twickenham followed by reception at The Thames Rowing Club

On reaching  the reception the road was flooded so we had to do some puddle jumping –  lucky Katie had her wellies to hand!

The The Thames Rowing Club is a stunning wedding venue with beautiful river views, a cosy bar and fabulous dining room.

Katie and friends had made a table full of delicious looking desserts and cakes. The other catering for the day was by Green Fig

The wedding Cake was very impressive and fitted the wedding theme of travel – Rory and Katie both love to travel and the table names and decorations reflected that along with the cake – made by a friend of the couple Lucy Andrews… massive well done as it looks perfect. ( I presume Lucy doesn’t actually make cakes for a living – she must just be super talented be able to do that in her spare time- wow!)

After dinner and speeches (lots of laughing and a bit of crying) live music was by the brilliant – The Counterfeit Hit
