Islington Town Hall Wedding

Sonia & Nathan

Islington Town Hall Wedding photographer Isling Town Hall is a beautiful wedding venue. Sonia & Nathan’s ceremony was in the impressive Council Chamber.

This Bride & Groom has two weddings to incorporate both of there family cultures into the celebrations.  Firstly had a traditional English wedding in London where they now live. Sonia and her bridesmaids got ready at The Great Northern Hotel, St Pancras. The bridesmaids wore indium style saris – which worked really well as two of them were pregnant ! The Motherof the Bride was on hand to help iron,  fit and amend the dresses on the day. They were a beautiful dark blue, really bringing the English and Indian cultured together in the most beautiful way. Sonia the Bride wore a simple white dress complimented by some very elaborate Indian jewellery – she looked like a princess – absolutely  stunning – as you can see from the photos they all looked amazing.

There was a private London Bus to transport the bridesmaids, and guests along with the groom to the wedding ceremony . The Bride travelled with the mother of the bride in a London black cab.

They had the wedding ceremony at Islington Town Hall a very impressive wedding venue with beautiful staircase, they had their ceremony in the Council Chamber.

I didn’t expect the groom to cry actually but I don’t blame him when the beautiful bride Sonia walked in he could not hold back a few tears. Having a small family wedding was really lovely and quite intense as they gave their vows and listened to beautiful meaningful and personal readings.

We took some family photographs outside Islington Town Hall before heading off to the reception. We also fitted in a bit of confetti 🙂

After the wedding ceremony there was a reception at The Driver Pub at Kings Cross – everyone traveld on the bus – wich gave the Bride and Groom a bit of time to chat to people as well as enjoy a glass of bubbles. After feasting on some delicious Indian inspired food there was some traditional speeches and cake cutting followed by drinks on the rooftop. Drinks and live music followed by dancing.

A week later they then an Indian ceremony in Manchester for Sonia’s Indian friends and family. The traditional Indian ceremony and dress was just beautiful. it was wonderful that they managed to create two celebrations and include there favourite aspects of both cultures.
