Nick Says; I had planned to propose to Emma at our special place, at the inn on the lake, by the lake, where we would sit and have picnics and talk about our future plans together; sadly, as cumbrian weather wasn’t to be, as it rained for months on end, I finally proposed 3 months later on 20th March 2014 at Blythswood Hotel, Glasgow, where thankfully she said yes

Emma & I got held our ceremony and breakfast at the only place we ever wanted to; The Inn on the Lake on 27th May 2016. Here we would sit by the lake and have picnics and talk about the future.

As well as it holding a special place in our hearts, the The Inn on the Lake are a very successful wedding venue, never have we ever read a single negative comment for anyone getting married here, and why would anyone. They have one of the most beautiful venues in the world for any couple to be married at, but what sets it apart, is you are made to feel part of the family at the hotel.

A simple elegance was the aim. Emma & I chose to only compliment the beautiful setting and hotel with beautiful pastel shade flowers to compliment both the brides dress and setting.

Bridal bouquet – Vandella roses, Sweet avalanche, amnesia, cream peonies with green and grey foliage and eucalyptus.

Bridesmaids – small posies of sweet avalanche and vandella roses with freesia and grey foliage.

Groom – pale pink rose

Ushers – Vandella rose

Bethany Clarke & Matthew Lloyd are incredibly talented Photographers. Having seen a lot of their photo journalist work, we knew is was exactly what we were looking for. There work on the day was perfect. A huge thank you to Matt & Beth for capturing our special day perfectly.

TABLE SETTINGS:

Mirrored plates, Princes tea lights in crackle glass holders and square vases with tied posy of same flowers as used in bouquets.

FAVOURS:

Men – Miniature Kraken Rum

Women – Shearers candles – small tins of scented candles

3 Tier cake. Bottom tier – victoria sponge. Middle tier – chocolate orange. Top tier- Carrot cake. Lace detail and floral decoration to top and side to match wedding colours. Champagne ribbon to each tier. Supplied by Margaret Burnham.

Entertainment for the evening by Sneaky Treacle from Glasgow. Fantastic in demand band!
