Wedding Photography at Ilkley Church & The Priests House
Emma & Alex celebrated their wedding on the 27th of February with a beautifully relaxed Yorkshire wedding day, beginning with a heartfelt ceremony at All Saints Parish church in Ilkley before heading to the historic The Priests House for an intimate reception surrounded by countryside views.
Late winter weddings always hold a special kind of magic, soft light, crisp air, and that feeling of spring just around the corner — and Emma & Alex’s day captured all of it perfectly.
A Romantic Ceremony at Ilkley
The day began in Ilkley, where family and friends gathered inside St Margaret’s Church. The atmosphere was warm from the moment guests arrived, with the church filled with anticipation and laughter, lots of old friends catching up.
The Bridal Party got ready just around the corner in a cute Air b&B just a few minutes walk from the church.
Emma’s entrance was effortlessly elegant, and the ceremony felt really lovely and relaxed, a perfect reflection of the couple themselves. February weddings often bring beautifully soft natural light through church windows, creating timeless imagery that feels both romantic and classic.
From a photography perspective, church weddings like this allow moments to unfold naturally — meaningful glances, quiet smiles, and genuine emotion that tell the true story of the day. After some confetti and family photos outside the church the guests headed on a a vintage bus over to The Priests House near Bolton Abbey and surrounded by stunning Yorkshire landscapes.
Yorkshire Countryside Celebrations at The Priests House
One of the highlights of Emma & Alex’s wedding was their outdoor drinks reception. Despite being late February, the weather was kind, allowing everyone to gather outside with drinks, hugs, and plenty of laughter.
Outdoor receptions always create a relaxed flow to the day. Guests mingle naturally, and couples get to truly soak in the moment — something Emma & Alex embraced completely.
The gardens provided the perfect backdrop for relaxed documentary-style wedding photography, capturing candid interactions and authentic joy.
A Day Focused on Connection
What stood out most about Emma & Alex’s wedding was how intentionally relaxed it felt. Nothing rushed, nothing forced — just genuine connection with the people they love most.
From the heartfelt ceremony at Ilkley Church to drinks outdoors at The Priests House, every part of the day flowed naturally, allowing real moments to happen organically.
This is always where the best wedding photography lives — not in perfection, but in feeling and unposed moments.
Relaxed Portraits Around The Priests House
We took a short walk around the grounds for portraits, keeping everything natural and unposed. Rather than stepping away for long periods, Emma & Alex wanted photographs that felt effortless and true to their day.
The surrounding ruins gave us muted winter tones and beautiful textures — stone walls, soft greenery, and golden evening light beginning to appear as the day unfolded.
These quieter moments often become couples’ favourite images; a chance to pause together amidst the celebration.
