Our wedding was at  The Mansion in Roundhay Park, Leeds. The location is beautiful in the park. We had exclusive use of the venue on our big day which was important to us.

We chose a summer theme – lots of pinks, gold, rose gold, cream to create a lovely summery floral atmosphere which fitted the time of year and location of the venue in the park.

The wedding dress

I bought my wedding dress from Abigail’s Bridal Boutique in Leeds. It was a Maggie Sottero gown with diamante embellishment on the top half and a full length gown. I love sparkles so it was the perfect gown for me.

Grooms outfit

Amarvir hired his morning suit from Moss Bros. He wore a black tail coat with grey striped suit trousers, light pink cravat and dove grey double breasted waistcoat, and held a grey top hat for our photos. For the evening reception Amarvir changed into a white tux jacket, black tux trousers, black bow tie and his black and white dancing shoes!

Bridesmaids dress

Bridesmaids worse a full length, light pink dress with lace detail to the top half which I bought online from www.stacees.co.uk which complemented my wedding dress and the overall theme.

Wedding transport

I travelled to the venue in a white vintage Rolls Royce with my parents and my 2 bridesmaids. I hired the car from Cupid Carriages based in Sheffield.

Our photographer was Bethany Clarke and her husband Matthew. We would definitely recommend them – they are lovely, friendly and very professional photographers. Their photos are very natural and they seamlessly fit into the whole day. The photo album they have produced for us is wonderful – really special memories for us to cherish forever.

Wedding Flowers

My bouquet was made up of beautiful roses and a variety of seasonal flowers provided by Twisted Willow Floristry based in Ripon. They were very professional and provided flowers for the whole venue on our big day to complement our colour scheme.

For the guest tables we had lovely arrangements of flowers and candles in glass votives. For the cake table we had my bouquet along with the bridesmaids bouquets in vases. My bridesmaids had bouquets made up of white gypsophila.

Wedding details

We used Tahlia at Function 54 for our chair covers and table swagging – we chose antique rose pink for our chair sashes which were tied with beautiful diamante brooches, and the same colours for the table swagging.

We had a beautifully designed post box for wedding cards, table plan and guest book all handmade for us by Ann Butler of Pawprintz based in Leeds – she did a wonderful job and handmade all our invitations too. Her creations are beautiful and we loved all our stationery she made for us.

We put out small pink and gold favour boxes on the tables which contained a mixture of pink and gold coated chocolates.

Wedding Cake

Our cake was made by Zoe’s Fancy Cakes in Leeds and it was amazing! It was 3 tiers, the sponge flavours were chocolate and Victoria sponge. It was decorated with white icing with a paisley design to the bottom tier, our initials written in gold decorative script and our cake toppers were personalised bride and groom made by Zoe which actually looked like us – she had even designed my dress and Amarvir’s morning suit to look the same as what we wore on the day!

Wedding food

Our catering was provided by Dine at The Mansion and it was delicious. Canapes were thai chicken satay, filo wrapped king prawns and caprini goat’s cheese served with prosecco/soft drink. For our wedding breakfast we had tartlet of lightly curried haddock to start with, followed by duck confit with honey & thyme and eton mess for dessert. Coffee and chocolates were served at the end of the meal. In the evening we chose bacon sandwiches, fish finger sandwiches and mozzarella pesto paninis. The wines to accompany the meal were dine house sauvignon blanc and merlot.

Wedding music

We had a string quartet for the wedding ceremony and drinks reception – we chose High Row Music who were great – it provided a lovely atmosphere to start off the day.

In the evening we hired a 4 piece jazz band – “The Jazz Prescription” led by Jeremy Sassoon – they were great at getting the party started with jazzy classics such as Frank Sinatra etc.

To end the evening we hired dine’s DJ and pre-chose our playlist for the evening.

Photobooth

We also hired a photo booth from Smile Big Booth Photography which was great fun and highly recommended.

Videographer:

Midgley Wedding Cinematography – we would highly recommend them to capture everything from the big day. They are very friendly, very professional and have produced a wonderful feature film and separate highlights film from our big day which means we can re-live the whole day over and over again!

North Leeds Dance Academy (NLDA) – our wedding dance instructor was Nicola Cullen and we worked with her to create a special first dance. We would highly recommend NLDA especially Nicola if you would like to learn to dance for your big day!

The Mansion is a gorgeous venue for a wedding and its location in Roundhay Park makes for some beautiful wedding photos. Also the exclusivity of the venue for your wedding day. The catering for The Mansion provided by dine is top quality.

I think my favourite part of the day was just after our first dance. We had taken dance lessons in the lead up to our wedding as we wanted to dance a special first dance (and neither of us could dance before this!). It went really well and we ended it with a dip and a kiss and at that moment I truly felt we were husband and wife!
