I absolutely love rustic wedding and in all honesty farms are defiantly my favourite kind of venue! I would take a country wedding on a farm  over a hotel wedding anyday! Perhaps this is because my family back ground is as farmers and my love of the outdoors!  Anyway this was my first time at the amazing Berts Barrow and i’m in love !

Berts Barrow wedding venue ….

” We have three barns with space to seat 180 through the day and can have up to 300 at night. As well we have the courtyard & paddock. Your special day will feel unique,rustic and relaxed in a countryside setting on our family farm.

We also hold a licence for you to be married here. You can either have your ceremony inside or outside weather dependant. LiquidCatering run our fully stocked bar and have a wide range street food available or you can choose your caterers, we can recommend all sorts of super local businesses to make your day special. “

Berts Barrow is  a small family-run farm spanning across generations in a little village called Hillam in North Yorkshire.

Started up by Marlene and Ian (Bert) Thompson (Jason’s Mum & Dad) with a cart at the side of the road and an honesty box, they sold locally sourced seasonal vegetables in aid of the village defibrillator fund. The barrows are still here to this day! 

A unique and Rustic Yorkshire Wedding Venue

There is so much that I love about this lovely wedding venue. As a family run place you get a really personal service and can make your day your own, your decorations your style – its a blank canvas full of charm and personality ready for you to take over. The space its self is ideal for weddings. There is plenty of space, all close together but different rooms. Indoor and outdoor areas are both stunning making it a really user friendly wedding venue. 

Beautiful ever changing farmland surfings the barns giving you amazing backdrops for your wedding photos ! My Candid and relaxed style of wedding photography really works so well with this relaxed and cool wedding venue.
